Carex - Statement on Palm Oil
Date: 19 March 2018
Carex is committed to ensuring that the palm oil used in our products is responsibly sourced, respects local and indigenous communities, protects animal habitats and does not contribute to deforestation.
We seek to be open and transparent and are aligned with Greenpeace’s call for consumer companies to disclose their palm oil suppliers.
At a scheduled meeting with Greenpeace on the morning of 19th March 2018, we provided a list of all our key direct palm oil suppliers and the mills from which they source.
Carex does not contain any pure palm oil, only ingredients manufactured using palm oil. These ingredients have a complex supply chain and although achieving full traceability remains an industry challenge we are making good progress in tracing back to the mill and aim to achieve full transparency as soon as possible.
Since 2016 we have been working with our NGO partner The Forest Trust and engaging with our suppliers and other stakeholders to help palm oil farmers embed better social and environmental practices for the benefit of their communities.
