Idea 3: Coughs and colds
We’ve all heard the saying “coughs and sneezes spread diseases” (and it’s true!) Germs spread easily from person to person. To help your child remember a few steps to help them stay healthy and avoid spreading cough and cold germs, we’ve created a special story featuring a sneezing Dolphin and sensible Penguin!
Always sneeze into a tissue, throw it away and then wash your hands!
Dolly’s cold
Dolly’s Cold tells the story of how Dolly the Dolphin learned that she’d caught some cold germs and how Pete the Penguin explained to her that she could help to stop spreading the germs to others by blowing her nose into a tissue and washing her hands afterwards.
Use the story to talk about how germs can’t always be seen but that they’re there in her sneezes and coughs.
Why not make you’re very own Dolly the Dolphin and Pete the Penguin puppets by downloading the template below.
Print off the template then get together some paints or crayons and any other craft materials for your child to decorate the characters.
When decorated, glued and cut, your child can pop the puppets onto their fingers (or lolly sticks) to re-tell the story or make up their own adventures for Dolly and Pete.
